How does the Nepali spell checker work?
It checks each Devanagari word against a dictionary of Nepali stems. Words not found are highlighted. Suggestions are generated using common vowel-length and consonant confusions (ि/ी, स/श, etc.) plus edit-distance candidates.
Does it work offline?
Yes. After the page and dictionary finish loading, everything runs in your browser. Your text never leaves your device.
Why are some correct words marked wrong?
The dictionary mainly contains base forms (stems). Many conjugated verbs, plural/case forms, proper names and specialised terms are missing. Treat the tool as a helper, not a final authority.

What dictionary is used?
Word stems come from the open Nepali Hunspell dictionary originally compiled by Madan Puraskar Pustakalaya (LGPL 2.1) and distributed by the community. Suggestions prioritise frequent short/long vowel and स/श style mistakes.
