The Google Pixel 8 Pro is one of the most anticipated smartphones of 2023, and for good reason. It’s rumored to have a top-of-the-line display, processor, and cameras. But how durable is it? Read through to see the SHOCKING results of Google Pixel 8 Pro durability test. See the scratch, burn and bend test.
To find out, JerryRigEverything, a popular YouTuber known for his durability tests, put the Pixel 8 Pro through its paces.
Scratch test
In the scratch test, JerryRigEverything uses a hardness scale of 2 to 9, to scratch the display. The Pixel 8 Pro’s display, which is made of Gorilla Glass Victus 2, starts to show minor scratches at level 6 and deeper grooves at level 7. This is consistent with other phones that use the same type of glass.
Burn test
Next, the display is exposed to flame of a lighter to the display for 17 seconds. This leaves a permanent burn mark. This is not surprising, as most smartphone displays are susceptible to burn-in if exposed to high heat for too long.
Bend test
JerryRigEverything applies a lot of pressure to the phone in an attempt to bend it. The Pixel 8 Pro does not bend or break, even when a lot of pressure is applied. This is a good sign, as it means that the phone is structurally sound.
Overall, the Google Pixel 8 Pro performed well in the durability test. It has a scratch-resistant display and a sturdy frame. However, it is still important to be careful with your phone, as even the most durable phones can be damaged if dropped or mishandled.
